About Us

Kirby Castlers was founded and set up by Ray Townsend, Jim Kellock and Paul Gray and was officially opened on 22 July 2010. For the 2011/12 season we have two teams running in the Leicestershire & Rutland Chess League.

Our officers are:

We hold meetings every Thursday throughout the year in the Kirby Muxloe Bowls Club clubhouse starting around 7:15pm and our AGM is held on the last Thursday in June each year.

We are situated adjacent to the Kirby Muxloe Library and Village Hall on Station Road, LE9 2EN:

There’s ample parking space and a licensed bar, newcomers are made very welcome and it is completely free to come along and try us out for the first few months.
